CHRISTOIC-real faith-real tough

I feel like mainstream Christianity has wandered far from what Jesus meant it to be. It has become more of a message that is about what God can do for us, how we can become prosperous and at the same time neglecting to talk about discipline and obedience.  I know that Jesus is God and the way to salvation, I also know that we need to be disciplined, tough and resilent in this life.  I belive we can combine the core tenets of the Christian faith while at the same time embracing Stoic philosphy.  They compliment each other and help to produce character in a man that would make Jesus proud.
